The shrine of Yamunotri, situated at an elevation of about 3,235 m is a point of paramount religious importance for Hindus and an essential pilgrimage. Situated in the direction opposite to Gangotri, the road bifurcates from a place called Dharasu, somewhere between Rishikesh-Uttarkashi and goes on to Yamunotri. The shrine can also be visited via Mussoorie and Barkot. The distance of Yamunotri is about 222 kms from Rishikesh.

Weather: In summer the maximun temp is 18 degrees and the minimum is 10 degrees celsius. The days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold.

Mussoorie:
Mussoorie is located at a height of 2005m. It is 35 kms away from Dehradun and it know as the “Queen of Hills”. It provides a wonderful view of the extensive Himalayan range to the north-east and Doon Valley to the south.

One can take a short ride by ropeway to Gun hill which is located on the Mall Road. It offers a spectacular view of the Himalayan peaks. Company Garden is an another popular tourist destination. During season, the Company Garden has beautiful collection of flowers and plants. Kempty fall is about 11 kms. from the town attract hundreds of people every day.

Places of Interest:
Camel’s Back Road
The place offers a picturesque view of the sunset and a life like resemblance of a sitting camel. One can also enjoy long walks and horse riding here.

Gun Hill
One can enjoy a thrilling ropeway ride to Gun Hill, the second highest peak of Mussoorie(2122 mts). The peak offers a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges.

Mussoorie Lake
Newly developed picnic spot situated on Mussoorie-Dehradun road.

Dhanolti
24 Kms from Mussoorie, Dhanolti provides a breath-taking view of the valleys and the Himalayan peaks. The long wooded slopes, lazy outings, cool caressing breeze, warm and hospitable inhabitants, lovely weather and fabulous view of of snow covered mountains makes it an ideal retreat for a relaxed holiday.

Surkanda Devi
Situated at an elevation of 3030 mts above sea level near village Kaddukhal the temple of Surkanda Devi is 33 kms from Kaddukhal and one has to trek about 2 kms. The temple of Surkanda Devi is situated on the top of the mountain and is of great religious significance. A fair is held every year on “Ganga Dussehra” during May-June in which thousands of people participate.
