Rishikesh, the 'place of sages' is a celebrated spiritual town on the bank of Ganga and is surrounded by Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. Rishikesh is 225 kms from Delhi. It is believed that when Raibhya Rishi did hard penances, God appeared by the name of "Hrishikesh" and this area henceforth came to be known as Rishikesh.
It is also known as the gateway to the Himalayas and is located around 25 kilometres away from Haridwar. Rishikesh is the starting point for traveling to the sites that form the Char Dham pilgrimage; Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Rishikesh is known as the World Capital of Yoga. For the adventure lovers; Rishikesh is the place for starting their trekking expeditions and excursions towards the Himalayan peaks. Rishikesh is also famous for Adventure sports like Rafting, Kayaking, Rock climbing, Camping and Jungle safari.

Laxman Jhula, Ramjhula, Parmarth Niketan, Geeta Bhawan, Swarg Ashram, Shivananda Ashram Bharat Mandir, Trivani Ghatt, Kailash Niketan Temple (13 storey temple at Laxman jhula), Neel Khant temple, Kunjapuri Temple, Virbhadra Mahadev temple. Rajaji National Park.
Weather: Generally hot in summer, the temperature ranges from 35-40 degree Celsius, Winter: The Days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold, temp ranges from 20 deg to 05 deg.
Chopta:
This place is popularly known as 'Mini Switzerland' in Uttaranchal and Northen India. Chopta is situated at the altitude of 2900 meters and about 210 kms from Rishikesh. The breathtaking landscape, the misty view of the environment, lush green meadows (Bugyal) and dense forests and the beautiful views of the villages will win your hearts.Its breathtaking to see the mist enveloping the entire landscape in a blink as it passes through trees while caressing mounds. This spectacular scene leaves visitors completely fascinated. You will yourself in the lap of nature mother and will relish the memories of staying here for your life time.

Khirsu:
The snow-covered mountain of Khirsu offer a panoramic view of the Central Himalayas and attracts a large number of tourists. Located 19 km away from Pauri and 165 kms from Rishikesh, at an altitude of 1,700 m, Khirsu is a peaceful spot, free from pollution. Khirsu offers the widest view of the mighty Himalaya peaks, On a clear day, you can count many known and unknown peaks from here. The tranquility of the adjoining thick oak and deodar forests and apple orchards, is broken only by the chirping of birds. The ancient temple of Ghandiyal Devta, in the vicinity, is well worth a visit.
